Our club mission is to promote running for everyone — and we do this by bringing people together to run, to eat and drink, and to share the joys of our race locations. This update is a complete listing of all LRC weekly group runs and their status as of March 13.
Running and the outdoors have always been great for our health, and it’s something you can do in large groups, small groups or alone — and we encourage you to continue getting outdoors to run and play. If you participate in a group run, we ask that everyone consider your circle of family, friends, and coworkers and the risk you may introduce to your circle by participating in a group environment. Please follow every possible precaution and the CDC guidelines to reduce the spread of all viral and bacterial infections.
Spring Ahead 5k Training • The group run will continue per the schedule this Saturday. There is a separate FB group for participants to stay in touch and participate with the program even if they cannot be there in person.
Monday Night Track • The club rents the Lakeland Senior High Track from PCSB. We are allowed to use the track when the school is open. If schools were to close, the track will also close. Watch for updates from PSCB on the status of local schools. The track will be closed on March 23 for Spring Break.
Kids Run Club • The KRC will follow the lead of the PCSB. The program will meet as long as PSCB schools are in session. The program will be off on March 24 for Spring Break.
Thursday Hill Run • The group run will continue with updates posted weekly in the LRC FB group.
Mitchell’s Coffee Run • Runners are welcome to continue to meet at Mitchell’s on Saturdays to start their long runs.
Downtown Lakeland Saturday Fun Run at Black & Brew — please join their FB group for updates.
FITniche’s Tuesday Night Pub Run — please join their FB group for updates.
We continue to plan for the Mayfaire 5k which is still eight weeks away. Medals are on their way. We appreciate your flexibility and patience. We will post and email updates when we have more information.
