All runs start at First Presbyterian Church on Lake Hollingsworth. Tuesday’s are tempo runs with a 1 mile warmup, 3-4 miles at tempo pace and 1 mile cool down. We have a few different courses for tempo runs.

The Program is open to kids of all running abilities 5 years old and up. The program directors help prepare the kids for a lifetime of running. Parents do not have to be LRC members for their children to run. However, the Lakeland Runners Club does offer a student membership for only $5. The workouts will include stretching, repeats, sprints, and distance runs. As the kids progress they may also want to move up to train with the middle school group that meets at 5:15pm at the same location. Parents are required to stay at the track for the entirety of the kids program.

FITniche's Tuesday Night Pub Run takes place at the Red Door Wine Market every week at 6:15 pm. The 5K course allows for running or walking at your own pace. After the exercise, join us for two for one and fellowship. If it is your first time, come a few minutes early ensuring your ability to sign the waiver before the run starts. Participants receive a free dry-fit shirt after completing 10 runs. Hope to see you there!

* 12th Annual Rotary Twilight 5K12th Annual Rotary Twilight 5K

Lakeland Rotary Twilight 5K will be on 12 February, 2016 at Edgewood Park. Join us for a scenic run around Lake Hollingsworth in Lakeland, Florida to benefit Common Ground Park – a park where children of varying abilities can explore and discover with imaginative play experiences. The four Rotary Clubs of Lakeland have worked together to support this park since its inception and proceeds from this annual race support the ongoing maintenance.

* LRH Cancer Center Promise RunLRH Cancer Center Promise Run

Time: 7:00 am

Registration is now open at PromiseRun.org for the second annual Lakeland Regional Health Cancer Center Promise Run, presented by Central Florida Eye Associates, on Saturday, February 27, 2016. The certified 5k and 10k courses begin and end in beautiful Munn Park in Downtown Lakeland. The 10k, which begins at 7 a.m., winds around Lakes Mirror, Morton and Hollingsworth. The 5k, which starts at approximately 8:35 a.m., goes around Lakes Mirror and Morton. Early registrants receive a discounted rate. Registration includes a technical running shirt, medal for those completing the run, an opportunity to earn a trophy, attendance at the post-race awards ceremony and refreshments. The inaugural Promise Run in March 2015 drew more than 1,800 runners and walkers, and $189,000 was raised to offset costs for the new chemotherapy area at Lakeland Regional Health Cancer Center. “The 2015 Promise Run was a superbly well-organized and wonderful event,” said Chuck McDanal, President of the Lakeland Runners Club and a participant in the first Promise Run 10k. “I’m looking forward to next year’s run.” This year’s fundraising goal is $250,000, with all funds going to the Lakeland Regional Health Cancer Center. “We were amazed by the show of support from runners and walkers, cancer survivors, families of cancer patients and donors for our very first Promise Run,” said Timothy J. Boynton, Associate Vice President for the Lakeland Regional Health Foundation. “We are extremely excited to partner with the community again to make our 2016 event an even bigger success.”
